JOIN THE FIESTA
Bright, upbeat, the collection was inspired by designer Laura Mehlinger’s trip to Mexico. She loved the vibrancy of colors and the boldness of their interplay. When visiting Frida Kahlo’s famed Casa Azul, she was personally inspired by the artist’s work and strength and also admired the lively decorative style of the home.
Mehlinger says, “During my trip there was something electric, and at the same time breezy and comfortable about the folk art and decor I saw. Bright cobalt against white felt crisp, and touches of yellow and red added depth to the mix. Artists embraced imaginative subject matter and an idiosyncratic hand-made aesthetic; imperfection was beautiful. For Lola Haze’s collection, I wanted to create a mood that felt delicate, easy and at the same time exciting.”
“Join the Fiesta” features rich silk charmeuse and chiffon in Black, White, Cobalt Blue with touches of turquoise, yellow and pink. In the “Casa Azul Chemise,” insets of contrast color transparencies define the body with sculptural grace. Lola Haze expands her foray into the classic babydoll silhouette with the simple elegant “Fresca Slip” in three shades of silk chiffon, and the “Mezcal Babydoll” in delicate lace with vibrant silk lining at the center front and bust. The “Going Bananas Teddy” is a fun riot, in bold Turquoise, Yellow, or White stretch lace, with pops of pink and lime--an exciting take on Lola Haze’s hallmark teddy silhouette.
Perennial Lola Haze favorites have been refreshed with a delicate hand; the “Frida Robe” is White silk charmeuse with lace sleeves and silver belt, and the “Frida Teddy” makes the perfect companion in Silver charmeuse and White mesh. With Lola Haze’s popularity and expansion in the bridal lingerie market, these two items are especially suited for the modern bride.
